Team for Palace
Assuming Cress won't be back for this one or he would obviously be starting.

Big decision is who to play alongside Hernandez, does Perez keep his place or do you go for someone more physical or even an extra midfielder?

Fabs

Zabaleta
The General
Diop
Masuaku

Snodgrass
Rice
Noble
Anderson

Chicharito
Antonio

Bench:
Adrian, Ogbonna, Obiang, Wilshere, Diang, Perez, Carroll

Think the strength of that bench even with our injuries shows we do have a very decent squad with the likes of Cresswell, Fredericks, Yarmolenko, Lanzini and Arnautovic all to come back in.

Little pea can't play as a single striker he needs a partner.

Re: Team for Palace
Perez has earned a place after Tuesday. Antonio sub or in for Zabaleta if further rest needed.

Maybe it's just me, but I thought that apart from his two goals Perez was fucking useless. I accept that it's a big, 'apart from'.

Wilshere injured yet again, so stick Silva on the bench

Re: Team for Palace
He's injured again ? How ? What a fucking joke.

Agree that Perez didn't look much cop but you have to give him a start after he's put two away, especially with Arnie out. Let's see what he can make of himself with a bit more confidence.

Re: Team for Palace
Wilshere will be fit for Saturday from what I read.

Pel said he could have played midweek if needed but wasn't worth the risk, only a matter of time though especially over the busy Xmas period.

I think its best not to play Wilshire as he'll just get injured. Its best to think of him as the best player we have who will never really play at all.

Re: Team for Palace
Not sure we can play both Perez and Hernandez , neither link up play or track back enough. Tough on Perez if he doesn't start but think Pea is the better of the two. If Pea doesn't cut in the first half then hook him.
I would have Holland on the bench as Wilshire is out.

Re: Team for Palace
If you don't play Wilshere when he's fit, isn't there a danger he'll get severe bruising in a rain shower, or break a leg cleaning his teeth before the next game?

Troy McClure 6:53 Thu Dec 6

Re: Team for Palace
I would like to see us start with Hernandez and Carroll up front. I would say the jury is still out on Perez despite his two goals. His positioning was good but both of them were put on a plate for him and both were quite lucky. The first hit the keeper on its way in and for the second there was no way he meant to put it between the keeper's legs - he didn't even look up when he pulled the trigger. For me he's still a sub until he does more to prove himself, but I don't suppose Carroll can last 90 minutes yet Perez he will probably get some time on Saturday.

Same as Troy McClure but I would play Perez not Carroll

Fabianski
Zabaleta Diop Balbeuna Cresswell
Snodgrass Rice Noble Anderson
Hernandez Perez

How can he prove himself as a sub ?

Carroll is and was everything wrong about the way we play football

Same if Cresswell is okay

I think we can pass/run around Palace's defence, more than attack them head on.

Though maybe give Snograss a rest (he is 30ish and throws himself about) and let Antonio continue to build his confidence. Neither did a lot wrong last night, which is a much nicer selection problem to have, than is usual for us.

Re: Team for Palace
I would be tempted to start carroll as i think we need a physical player upfront, and we are now playing decent football getting the ball into positions to put good crosses in rather than crossing from deep

Snodgrass and anderson can put real quality into the box for him and he could feast on that

Jasnik 9:38 Thu Dec 6
Re: Team for Palace
Carroll will be on the bench he looked so unfit last game.
